No one who believes in him will be put
to shame.
For
there is no distinction between Jew and Greek;
the
same Lord is Lord of all,
enriching
all who call upon him.
For
“everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Romans
10:13
All Christians believe in Jesus as Lord
and Savior, His gospel as the blueprint for good, fruitful and happy living,
and the guidebook to eternal life. Catholics add to that a very rich and
profound understanding of Sacrament….The belief that Jesus is truly present in
the Sacraments leads to the recognition of how very blessed, gifted and loved
God’s people are.

For Reflection:
How
might you use this season of Lent to renew your personal relationship with
Jesus, Lord and Savior, and your appreciation of Jesus’ presence in the sacraments?
I maintain and renew my relationship with Jesus through my relationship with the world and the people in it. To me the sacraments are rituals of connection - to God and to the community at large. That connection is marked by each sacrament we experience or witness, and renewed daily through compassionate interactions with others.
ReplyDeleteToday, I am remembering Fr. Steve saying this about Lenny:
"He found joy in celebrating the sacraments – as anyone who ever prayed with him, or saw him at a wedding, or a baptism, or a first communion, will easily recall. He could get more excited over a baptism than any priest I ever knew."
Thanks 4 recalling that quote, Nancy. I didn, t get 2 read it until this morning, but last night I went 2 bed recalling gratefully the thousands (over 39 years) of prayerful sacramental celebrations in which I participated with Fr. Lenny.
